TASK

Exercise : Shazam Exercise

We are tasked to download the resources from google drive and follow the instruction video.
Throughout the tutorial video, I learnt about quick selection tools to mask out the images, and colour adjustment according to the colour script of the background.

Next, I moved to background image, hearst mansion, and paste the Shazam into the image.

I resized the image to fit to the image
Followed by, I adjust the colour of the Shazam according to the mood of the background image.
Image > Adjustment > Match Colour

Next, I added the shadow at the back of the Shazam, decreased its opacity and add gaussian blur.

Also, add the reflection by duplicate the image and flip opposite direction. Same steps went through to adjust the colour of the reflection, using colour balance and hue and saturation.

Project 1B My Reflection

Next exercise, we are tasked to take our photograph and add it into the hearst mansion.

I took self portrait photo, using daylight at my room. Then, import the photo into the photoshop and mask it out using quick selection tool and lasso tool.

Next, I adjust the colour of the photo according to the colour script of the background image. It was challenging because if i tweak the colour too much, the skin colour is burnt.

Followed by adding the reflection. I duplicate the image and flip opposite direction. Then, did colour correction to fit the overall mood and add gaussian blur a little bit.

REFLECTION

In lecture, I learnt functions of exposure settings in DSLR camera. There were 3 settings , IRIS, Shutter Speed and ISO. I did not know that adjusting  value of the exposure gives different brightness in photographs. By learning the basic camera settings, I become aware what are the functions to be adjust for the specific scene.

During the task, I learnt that I can adjust the colour of the photos according to the colour script. It is simple and easier to blend the self-portrait to the background.
