Week 9

During the independent week, we are task to do mood board for visual publication. Since my theme is sound, I look out for the sound wave, the colour of the sound beats, and different page layout. For the cover page, I look forward to do minimalist and vector image, since my topic is about the low budget animation.

Week 10

I started with the cover page design. As I was looking into the minimalist design, I choose vector music elements which is sound bar. I came out with 3 variations and played with the negative space.

During the feedback, I need to control hierarchy and use search for font variations. Also, I do not need to use same font size for all the words. Thus, I choose the most important words "Quality Sound Effects" and "Low Budget Animation" because these are the main topic of the dissertation.

I also add the wavy lines at the background and add the curve line in between the letters, but I find that wavy background seems more effective and catch the attention.

Week 11

At first, I placed the sub-title and content based on the grid line, and find that the layout seems boring. based on the feedback, I need to play with angles and sizes to show dynamic because my topic is related to sound. Thus, I used axial typography system and place line of sound wave in the middle. to express the rhythm.

Also, there are some empty spaces in between the pages, so I researched on the music elements such as speaker, microphone and headsets, and draw them out using the path tool.

Visual Design
Design must be relate to the topic

Specific Feedback : Fonts need to be changed because they look straight and not really related to the sound/music. Find the rhythmical/music fonts

Week 10
General Feedback : Hierarchy needed for the cover page, use the element related to the topic
Specific Feedback : colour and design are okay but the title design does not seem rhythmical, find better font

Week 11

Specific Feedback : Add more rhythmic elements and sound elements that related to sound, ( eg speaker, headsets etc) to look more related to sound

Week 12
Specific Feedback : Selected fonts seem more technical rather than sound. Consistent in spacing
