Problem statement
A concise description of an issue to be addressed or a condition to be improved upon. It identifies the gap between the current (problem) state and desired (goal) state.
Research Question : an answerable inquiry into a specific concern or
issue.
Research Objective : what we expect to achieve by a
project. It may be linked with a hypothesis or used as a statement of
purpose in a study that does not have a hypothesis.
Hypothesis : a tentative statement about the relationship between
two or more variables.
(* it does not have to be correct)
Variables : something that can be changed or varied, such as a
characteristic or value.
Week 3
- organised and systematic study of a problem where the researcher attempts to address or find solution to the problem
- specific questions and clearly defined objectives.
Research Problem
- An answerable inquiry into a specific concern or issue
- Influences the strategy that is employed in order to provide answers to questions or hypothesis
Research Objective
- What a researcher expects to accomplish by the end of a research project
- Derived from a problem statement
- Clear, concise and declarative statement
- Focused on the ways to measure the variables (eg. identify or describe)
SMART
Inductive approach (when there is little to no existing literature on a topic)
INSTRUCTION
Week 3 :
Based on the feedback, I change my research topic and reference the article less than 15 pages.
Week 4 :
I refined the rational and problem statement.
Final Submission
Specific Feedback : -
Week 2 :
General Feedback : Think about this question, " the way to improve the animation skills ". We are not psychology student.
Specific Feedback : My topic clashes with other student, thus looking for a different view of sound, such as low budget in production.
Week 3
General Feedback : For reference, no thesis or book, because we don’t have time to read. Find the articles that has around 15 pages.
Specific Feedback : -
Week 4
General Feedback :Add citation from journal or article for problem statement, state last name/year/quotation page, no initial.
Week 3
- S - Specific
- M - Measurable
- A - Attainable
- R - Realistic
- T - Time bound
- Observation
- Observe a pattern
- Develop a theory
Deductive approach
- Start with an existing theory
- Formulate a hypothesis based on that theory
- Collect data to test that theory
- Analyse the results: does the data reject or support the hypothesis?

Assignment 1 - Proposal
Week 1 :
Module briefing and task to select specialisation. I chose digital
animation, and do research using google scholar and researchgate. I focused
on post-production area,

Week 2
REFLECTION
I had a difficulty choosing the topic that related to digital animation
because I was scared that my topic would clash with others. Also, it was
challenging to start the rational. I scribble down the points and read about
writing a rationale.
Week 3
All my references are more than 15 pages which are not able to finish them
in a given time. Also, it was challenging to decide whether the articles are
really related to my topic.
Week 4
As I kept changing the words for the proposal, I was rushing on the last day
of the submission. I used grammarly to check my grammar. On the instruction,
the design of the powerpoint slide would be related to the topics that we
chose, thus, I took a long time to decide what are the elements that describe
the sound.
