Exercise
I use the gradient map to apply the filter on the photo.
In Week 7, we learnt about double exposure.Initially, I was intrigued by the concept of merging two images to create a unique composition. As I delved into the process, I found the importance of careful planning and thoughtful selection of images. I went through many trials during the progress, and wasting time to repeating the same work. It required me to consider elements such as colour and and shape to create visually appealing results.

LECTURE
Double Exposure & Blending Mode
Double Exposure : merging multiple images. The goal is to make them
surreal, emotional, or humorous. They usually feature silhouettes.
-
Using the Tilt-Shift Effect : blur one of your photos instead of the
entire image
(* To add this feature, go to Filter > Blur Gallery > Tilt-Shift)
-
Create Fake Reflection (eg.creating a double-exposure with the help of a
separate window photo)
-
Experiment with simple portraits and details textured : Combining
something plain with something complicated, to give balanced result
-
Convert your results to Black & White : A lack of colour will strengthen
the emotions.
- Work with silhouette
- Pick two random photos
- Make simple objects look fascinating
- Use Shadow
Blend Modes in photoshop
TASK
Mr Fauzi tasked us to practice double exposure with tutorial video.
I imported the woman portrait, and use selection mask to remove the background
Fig 1.1
Then, I add solid layer as background colour, and imported the tree images
and mask them to merge with woman portrait.
Fig 1.2
Next, add rest of the elements as the background. For the cloud, I adjust
the intensity by adjusting the brightness using 'level'.

I use the gradient map to apply the filter on the photo.
Final Exercise :

Project 2A Double Exposure
This time, we need to take our own portrait. I took myself in my room and
imported it into photoshop.
As similar process to the exercise, I mask the portrait to remove the
background, followed by erasing my head and body.
Fig 2.1
I search some images that can be used for double exposure. I chose bridge,
group of birds and sky as background image.
Fig 2.2
Then, imported the bridge image, stick on my back. Then, placing the birds and
cloud images as a background. I use curve to adjust the brightness of the
bridge.
Fig 2.3
I used gradient map to make my poster look vintage.
